Molly my Muse

Molly is my constant companion except, as she would be the first to point out, when I choose to abandon her and go on holiday. Her nose was the inspiration for The Magic Makers, the book which launched me on my two years (hopefully to be extended indefinitely) of writing and publishing with Nicola.
One day, I was looking at the smudge on Molly's nose and it occurred to me that, had she been created and then painted by a Magician, that Magician might have been tempted to stroke Molly's nose as an act of affection before launching her into the world. This gave me the idea for Prometheus, the Animal Magician.
As I mulled things over, I realised that I could extend this original thought and write a poem which would celebrate the great diversity of nature and the wonder of the changing seasons. It would appeal to the younger daughter next door and, with Flora the Flower Magician, I could express my love for my long-deceased grandmother who introduced me to the subtle beauties of our country's wild flowers.
